In Kansas City, the Lona family is known in the Westside neighborhood for their activism. Their family comes from a generation of immigrants who fled from Mexico during the Revolution of 1925. Charles is an activist just like many of his ancestors before him. Today, Charles leads many in the fight for equal rights in housing in the Latino neighborhood of the Westside during the extreme hike of personal property taxes.
